Hamilton Reflects on F1 Struggles, Eager to Start Fresh with Ferrari

In a revealing summation of his final season in Formula 1 with Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton stated that he is eager for Christmas.

Hamilton told manager Toto Wolff at the beginning of the year that he was leaving the Silver Arrows to join Ferrari in 2025.

The British player, who joined Mercedes from McLaren in 2013, was certain that he wanted to leave the team with a bang.

In July, he won the British Grand Prix, and in that same month, he won the Spa-Francorchamps race.

But his retirement in Austin and his tenth-place finish in Sao Paulo, when his Mercedes faltered on the resurfaced, uneven tarmac, contrasted with his fourth-place result in Mexico.

The 39-year-old is now eager for this season to end so he can begin the upcoming season with Ferrari.

"I just put my focus on something else," Hamilton responded when questioned about his displeasure by Motorsport.com. I'm not competing for the title. It honestly doesn't matter where we place in the championship.

Hamilton was asked to determine if the rough track surface or Mercedes' low ride height was to blame for the bouncing issues that caused him significant back pain during the week in Brazil.

"Both," he replied, "but I believe primarily because of the automobile, just something's not right. It was a poor qualifying performance. It was a poor sprint race. All weekend long, the automobile has been a pain."

Hamilton said, "You tell me why my car swings from good to bad a weekend at a time." That is the crucial question. If you are able to locate it. You'll get a million bucks from me!
